Tornado Myth

This week we're focusing on Myths and legends.

We had to choose a natural disaster and I did Tornadoes.

My myth is set around two characters Tumanako and Whakangro god of light and darkness being in love but separated. Whakangro has an idea on how he can talk to his lover.

This is my myth:

Tumanako god of light and Whakangaro god of darkness were in love but was sadly separated because of the darkness covering Tumankos heart killing her spreading more and more like the plague….

Whakangaro had an idea how he could talk to his lover so he went and saw

“Please, Please help me!” whakangro cried. In the end they had agreement to send messages between Tumanako and Whakangaro.

But sometimes the messages bump into each other and twirl around like their dancing, The messages keep going causing Tornadoes until they finally get pulled apart and get lost.

If you listen closely after a tornado you can hear their messages.

Math DLO

Today I made a Kahoot for my math DLO But sadly I couldn't share it.


We've been working on Timetables, Area and perimeter.

Timetable have always been easy to me so when we did it in class I didn't need much help and that's what I'll be working with today.

For timestables you can use many different ways to figure it out. The easiest and most common way used is skipping hours until you can’t then doing the same with minutes.

For example:

If the bus leaves at 9:35am and arrives at its destination at 10:30am How long did it take to get there?

So the question shortened is 9:35 - 10:30

You cant add a hour or else  it would be 10:35 which is 5 minutes over.

So we’ll add 20 minutes which will make it 10:00 then all we have to add is the last 35 minutes to make it 10:35

So the answer is = 55 minutes

My Dog

My Dog Born Special

Tison is my male Chihuahua who is 3 years old dog who was born differently from other dogs.
We got him from a lady in Australia,He was the runt in the family and no one wanted him....mainly because he was born with a cleft lip.

(A Cleft lip is when you're born with one side of your upper lip is gone)

The Cleft lip doesn't really effect his every day life other than teeth growing weirdly, When he was younger mum had to stay up really late to feed and help Tison breathe which was sad, I tried helping whenever I could.

Now Tison is healthier and can run around and eat fine, We're trying to find a way to help him more and happy to see him grow.

Welcome to Term 2

Welcome!

First week of Term and we're working hard already!

There is many things happening around school like the Production, Rugby, Chest club, Basketball, School camp and cross country.

Im doing the Production (Which its my first year doing), My Character is General Commotion who is the leader of the Marines. In total I have 16 lines most of them is me arguing with one of my best friends (Who is playing Mayor Doughnut).

Sadly I'm not going to the school camp but it seems like so much fun!

They'll be doing fun activities like Bike riding, Tree climbing, Swimming and more exiting things.

I can't wait to see what the rest of the year brings!

Anzac Poems

Today in Totara 1 we made poems, we all did Diamante poems. But then we had the choice between a colour poem or a Rhyming AA BB (Don't know the actual name.)
I decided to do the colour poem.

There was a pattern we had to follow using Noun,Adjective and Verbs

Brunner mine dairy entry

This week related to our Brunner mine work we made Dairy Entries.
Mine was about a girl/Me named Charlotte Rose who's dad is a single parent who hasn't been found out of the mine yet and this describes whats happening now and how she feels about it.

 

Red poem

This week we made short poems about colours I made mine about red.

At first I was going to do purple but I had no good ideas so I changed it to red.

the first thing that came to mind was roses then blood so I made a poem about that.

The next couple of things I had trouble with I thought about fire,cars and Anger.

I thought I would be able to come up with more because reds my favorite colour but it was actually pretty hard, What can you come up with?

For a practice we did the colour Blue,Mine was...

Blue is my eyes fluttering open like a butterfly flying for the first time, As I awake from a slumber.

I know it could use some work but I still really like it.

Today with Miss Hines We had to put our favorite song on a Slide then say why we liked it.

My Math Improvement

Ever since school started up again I've been tracking down my score and I'm really proud.

I started at 78 and now I'm 100. I love having competitions with my friends, Megan is winning right now with 100 in 2 minutes something.

Now I just have to improve my time.
